Artist Statement :
I am Amita Dinesh Goswami. Born on 5th May in the year 1968.
Although, a simple science student, I could see the beauty and meaning in everything around me.
My sensitive mind and soul would not allow me (and will not), to let happenings around me go unnoticed. Finally my true companion, ART, became a voice to my feelings.
I was fortunate enough to learn the basics of drawing and painting at Sarjak, Vadodara in 2011, from one of the most experienced teachers, Respected Mr. Ramesh Pandya, who is an artist himself and has been a faculty at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Fine Arts in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. I got the opportunity to participate in many group shows there.
I was also a participant in an open competition organized by Mr. Ajit Verma in the year 2013 where I secured a third place.
My work got selected for the display in a state level competition and exhibition at ‘Lalit Kala Academy, Ahmedabad, Gujarat‘ in 2014.
A solo show "Antah-swar" was exhibited at Aakruti Art Gallery, Vadodara on 10th October 2014. This show was inaugurated by Padmavibhushan Shri. K. G. Subramanyan.
About Artist work :
Life is a wonderfully complicated journey. It is full of surprises… isn’t it ?
To me, the mankind is an extremely unique and most celebrated creation of God. Humans are gifted with something special which is known as Mind, to be precise - "Mann".
The mind of every sensitive person sets itself on a roller coaster ride throughout the journey of his life, with a mix of Emotions, Expressions, Delight, Disappointments, Hope and the list goes on….
In Art, I have found a true companion, a companion who has no expectations and yet bestows me with complete freedom to share my feelings with honesty and purity.
A strong urge to express my thoughts and feelings had introduced me to this companion and I truly thank my selfless companion.
