Prof. G. K. (Appa) Deshpande was a multifaceted personality - painter, designer, photographer, craftsman, academic, administrator and more...In his long career, he had the distinction of establishing and heading the school of Art at Aurangabad, he was the dean at the prestigious Sir J. J. School of Applied Art, Mumbai and professor and dean at the art school at Nagpur.
His interests and talents were not confined to one field and he straddled multiple genres in the art space quite effortlessly.
