Founder of Indiaart and Art India Foundation - Milind Sathe

Milind Sathe, art activist, passed away in the city on February 10th following a brief illness. He was 60.

The founder of Art India Foundation and Khula Aasmaan, Shri Milind Sathe continues to live in our hearts as someone who inspired many with his passion for art and fulfilled his friendships and relationships with unending love.

Indiaart

  • Milind Sathe set up the art portal www.indiaart.com in 2000. He further established the physical art gallery titled "Indiaart Gallery" in 2002. Indiaart Gallery has presented several hundred art exhibitions and events till date and continues to promote artists, sculptors and photographers.
  • Since 2019, Indiaart has turned itself into a “web only” model with all its promotions happening on www.indiaart.com. Indiaart does get involved in organising select art exhibitions at prestigious venues.
  • Apart from presenting curated exhibitions and collections, Indiaart has been assisting art collectors (individuals and corporates) to manage their collection of art and collectibles.
  • Indiaart works with several organisations to conceptualise, plan and execute art projects.

Art India Foundation

Milind was the founding trustee of Art India Foundation, a trust which undertakes activities and projects to promote art and spread art awareness especially among children including underprivileged and challenged children.

Khula Aasmaan

Khula Aasmaan is a platform for creative expression by children and young adults. Khula Aasmaan runs art competitions and creates content in art and science in the form of videos and audios for children, parents and teachers.

Khula Aasmaan has a pan India reach and the art contest receives entries from across India. See the locations from where entries come in.

Khula Aasmaan conducts workshops for children, teachers as well as parents. Exhibitions of medal winning and shortlisted artworks are also organised at public spaces and institutions so that the sensitisation to art can happen in a significant way. Details
