Artist Bhalchandra Mandke

Bhalchandra Mandke

Bhalchandra Mandke did his G. D. Art from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay, Pune in 1975. Mandke worked at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune, from 1976 till 2006. He retired as a full professor in 2006. Mandke mainly taught fine art at Abhinav. From childhood, Mandke used to be intrigued and awed by nature. His passion for nature can be seen in his paintings.

Mandke used to exhibit regularly, but because of his main profession as a professor in fine arts, he could not exhibit in a big way. After retirement from active teaching, he is now a full time artist.

Mandke does original work, mainly taking inspiration from nature. He applies his mind and body to nature's compositions and then adds his soul into it and a masterpiece gets created. His paintings are soul-stirring and soul-searching and they take you deeper. The power of Mandke's works literally blows your mind while taking your breath away. Each piece accosts all your senses. The colours are vibrant, the strokes bold & the message crystal clear. The effect is almost hypnotic. Mandke's confidence, brilliance and skill emanates from each piece. He is gloriously uninhibited in expressing his thoughts. These days, it is rare to find an artist who paints from the heart and not for the audience. Mandke’s works are almost like story-telling in its effect on the viewer. The positivity and energy arrests the viewer. It revolves around mysticism and mysteries of the human mind and forces you to look inward in search of the treasures that lay within. His application of joyful colours is exhilarating and the energy infectious. The subtle feelings exuded by Mandke’s abstract and semi abstract paintings make you see something new in them every day, making viewing them a wondrous experience.
