Nalini Bhagwat

Nalini has done her graduation and Post Graduation in history from Rajaram College, Kolhapur, Diploma in painting and art masters from the Dalvi's Art Institute, Kolhapur and Doctorate in Art history in 1985 from the Faculty of Fine Art, M. S. University, Baroda.

She had done three solo shows which were dedicated to different subjects. The first show dealt with the social problems like the dowry-death, injustice to women etc. The second show of her painting represented the festivals of India. The third depicted the views of "The Indian River Ghats" including most of them related to the Ghats of Banaras. Her style of painting is semi-realistic. The colour schemes are always bright. She uses mostly pure colours and flat tones with the use of a painting- knife for thick colour application that brings a rich textural surface to her paintings.
