Artist Tapas Sarkar

Graduated from Govt. Collage of Art & Craft, Kolkata. 1975. Formerly Senior Fellow, Dept. of H.R, Govt. of India. Founder member 8. Secretary "Calcutta Sculptors".

Recipient of many Awards and Scholarships including Governor's Gold Medal, Academy of fine Arts, Kolkata, Rabindra Bharati University & State Lalit Kala Academy, M. P. Eleven Solo Exhibitions in Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad & Santiniketan. More than 34 giant installations spread all over India, sizes ranging 10 to 55feet high for N. T. P. C., SAIL, IFFCO, States & Central Govt. Organizations.

Participated in several workshops and camps in India and abroad including Ramkinkar Baij Centenary, bronze casting camp, organized by Lalit Kala Academy & Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan. Tour & talk on 'lndian Sculpture Contemporary Scene' in European countries , organized by ICCR. 1999. Founderof Sculpture Gallery, Kolkata.
