Remarks

This painting by child artist Ananya Aloke, Class 10 received a Honorable mention in Khula Aasmaan art contest for children for July to September 2019.

This Painting depicts urban forest which we quite often see growing in and around human settlements. They are the only source of comfort for the human soul which sometimes so desperately seeks to connect with the nature amongst the otherwise concrete jungles which have come to symbolize a city. When I began this painting , my focus was on a large tree standing just across the road. However, the moment I got down painting the tree, I realized that its backdrop seemed a little boring. So while making the backdrop, I applied random strokes of different colors, without any particular idea. It helped, Eventually, other forms of trees and bushes appeared. The use of light colors was intended to give more focus to the tree at the center. Finally, it turned out to resemble a typical urban forest. I have deliberately left a few things undefined for the viewer's imagination
