A mechanical engineer by training, Rakesh Sonkusare is a self taught artist who likes to study different aspects related to painting and then he tries out and experiments to validate what he has gathered from various sources. He likes to indulge in the kind of art which connects nature and the lives of people. He therefore sketches and paints nature, landscapes, flowers and people.
Rakesh tries out all the mediums which include watercolours, oil, pen & ink, charcoal, graphite and more. He believes that each medium has its unique strength and allows him the freedom in expressing a wide range of ideas and feelings, apart from strokes.
