Inauguration of exhibition for Flood Relief Fund

17th August 2005

 

An exhibition to raise funds for flood affected people has been arranged in Indiaart gallery. Currently there are paintings and sculptures of nearly 75 artists from different parts of the country on display. Opening of the exhibition took place at the hands of Dr. Vijay Bhatkar. Some of the eminent artists that are taking part are Shri. Diwakar Dengle, D. S. Khatavkar, Suhas Bahulkar, Vasudeo Kamath, Milind Mulick, Maruti Patil, G. A. Dandekar, Shobha Patki, Mukund Kelkar, R. D .Kamble, Chandramohan Kulkarni, Prakash Bhende, Anwar husain, Debjani Datta etc. During the inauguration majority of the artists present said that the noble cause of raising the funds by way of a painting exhibition is the best way to help affected people. The exhibition at Indiaart Gallery will be on till the 31st of August 2005. The online exhibition at www.indiaart.com will remain active till 31st October 2005. During his speech the chief guest Dr. Vijay Bhatkar complimented Indiaart for arranging a fund raising exhibition for flood affected people. He also spoke about the aesthetic relationship between art & science. And also that art should reflect the ideology of Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram giving enduring joy to all. He also expressed the need for professionally run art colleges.
