Art on Postcard

Khula Aasmaan

"Art on Postcard" is an initiative by Khula Aasmaan to get the children back to using the good old postcard. The good old postcard can travel very long distances. Experience the charm of writing a postcard, painting it, going to the post office near to you and posting it. India Post will ensure that your drawing on postcard, painting on postcard, doodle on postcard, cartoon postcard, will reach.

Khula Aasmaan received several messages from teachers in remote areas who mentioned that their students were keen to participate in Khula Aasmaan but did not have access to internet. Even the internet access available at school was very limited.

It was then felt that the postal network is widespread and reaches out to the remotest areas of the country. The idea of "Art on Postcard" was thus born.

Guidelines and information for participating in "Art on Postcard" :

• Use one full side of the postcard to do cartoon, doodle, sketch or painting.
• Use any medium of your choice - pencil, pen and ink, pastels, crayons, sketch pen, gel pen, ball pen, poster colours, acrylic colours, watercolours
• On the other side of the postcard, write your name, address, email id and contact number along with your school name. Also write a brief description of your artwork along with the title and medium used.
• Put this postcard in an envelope and post it to Khula Aasmaan at the address given below. Affix Rs. 5/ postage stamp on the envelope after you have put the postcard in the envelope. Seal the envelope and post it at any post office of India Post.​ ​
• Do NOT send postcards directly as open postcards. The artworks could get damaged in transit. Khula Aasmaan will NOT accept any postcards that are sent directly. Postcards MUST be sent by putting them in a sealed envelope and affixing Rs. 5/- postage stamp on the envelope. If you are sending multiple postcards in a single envelope, affix stamps of appropriate value as directed by the post office.​
• The postcards will become the property of Khula Aasmaan and will not be returned.
• This is not a commercial venture. Postcards by children received by Khula Aasmaan are not for sale. Khula Aasmaan is doing this purely for promoting creative thought among children.
• Select artworks sent on postcards will be displayed in the section "Art on Postcard" on our website.
• Khula Aasmaan will also plan to display select postcards at various events and exhibitions from time to time.
• Khula Aasmaan is committed to encourage and mentor talented children who participate in "Art on Postcard". Khula Aasmaan will create dedicated web page for each of the shortlisted children who have sent a postcard under the initiative "Art on Postcard".
