Art of Warli painting

Warli painting is a tribal art form which is practised by the warli community in Maharashtra. Warli paintings depict events in the life of the tribal community and the subjects of the paintings include their daily rituals related to agriculture, family life, cooking, festival of Holi, apart from animals, birds and nature. Traditional warli paintings used rice paste as the medium. The paintings were done on the walls of the houses or on cloth.
