Debjani Datta
I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Buddhist studies in 2005. I attend regular meetings and discussions on the various principles of Buddhism. On my last visit to The Tashi Jong monastery in Himachal Pradesh. I had the opportunity to interact with monks who were being prepared for their journey towards the eternal truth. The series starts with a humble offering to the Buddha through the first series titled The Little Buddha, which expresses the various moods of the little monks. The series ends with my signature figurative forms of the pilgrims, all bright and colorful celebrating the very essence of life. In these paintings I have as always depicted the everyday facets of life.
