Animal Pallette - Book launch at Oxford Bookstore, Leela Galleria, Bangalore on 3rd June 2011

Animal Palette is a collection of animal stories by author Chetan Joshi, ranging from the romantic to the outright terrifying. Illustrator Tejas Modak has used a different medium and artistic style for each story making it a veritable palette of graphic fiction.

Reflections on Transient life : Exhibition of Paintings by Prakash Bal Joshi to commemorate World Environment Day

Art curator of a leading Indian art site, www.indiaart.com, Milind Sathe, has organised a solo art exhibition by renowned artist Prakash Bal Joshi to commemorate World Environment Day on 5th June. Leela Kempanski, Bangalore will host the show at Leela Galleria. Prakash Bal Joshi has participated in art events in Lisbon, Croatia, Norway in Europe and in USA.
Some of his remarkable exhibitions are SUBTLE CHANGES, Art for Environment, Ways of Spirit and In Search of a River.

Life and Universe : Exhibition of Paintings by Purnendu Mandal and Reba Mandal

Purnendu Mandal : Born in 1980 at Malda, West Bengal. He has achieved B. V. A. from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata in 2003. After passing out from the Art College he organized five solo shows and twelve group shows all over India.
Reba Mandal : Born in 1985 at Malda, West Bengal. She has appeared for B. F. A. in Painting from Kolkata in 2011. She has participated in several group shows. There are several awards to her credit.

Artists

Haren Thakur

After graduating from Kala Bhavan (Shantiniketan) in 1975, he has participated in numerous exhibitions, art camps as well as major group and solo shows in India. He is known for his distinctive medium such as a collage of Nepali rice paper on canvas, Haren uses animals to depict the political situation in India. The artist says, "Without the much hyped philosophical angle, I want to come out with paintings of serene and simple philosophical attachment". The blending of ethnical and modern art has impressed a great number of amateurs in India as well as in Chicago, Toronto, London. He uses human figures to depict the subjects from Mahabharata, Ramayana and also other subjects like mother & Child, Childhood in his style.

Arabinda Samanta

Born on 1974. He has achieved Degree in B. V. A. from College of Art & Craft Kolkata. He has participated in several group shows. In his statement he explains about theme of his painting as - The theme of my painting is love and passion. To me love is the one unchanging reality and Radha - Krishna are the greatest lovers ever and I am inspired by them. The most interesting thing which I want to create in my painting is the feelings and the mood of Radha - Krishna's faces and forearms. I like to keep Radha - Krishna's faces white to depict that when some fall in love they feels happy and the glow of this happiness reflects on their faces. In my view white is the brightest colour in my palatte.

Varsha Kharatmal

Born in 1980 at Satara. She has completed Diploma in Painting from Kala Mahavidyalaya, Satara. She works in Acrylic on canvas. Her recent works are on Peshwa and Fisher family. She does very detailed work in her paintings like jewellery, saree, clothes of the particular figure to get the complete feel of that subject. Her works are in private collection in India.

Chitra Singh

Born in 1968. He has achieved G. D. Art in 1999 from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya. He has participated in several exhibitions in India. He works in Acrylic & Oil on Canvas. His subject is Landscapes. He uses soft colours in his paintings and viewer get a feel of lively painting.
