Naturescape - Paintings by J.B. Patil

Born in 1962 in a small village in Sangli District in Maharashtra. He has achieved G. D. Art Painting from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune in 1986. He has participated in several group shows and his works are in private collection in India and abroad. He is a winner of several awards which includes award from Bombay Art Society, Atur Foundation, Hyderabad Art Society, Youth Art Exhibition. As he is born and brought up in a small village he use to watch different colours of nature in all seasons in the atmosphere of green fields. After completing his G. D. Art Diploma, he has concentrated on the subject nature and he has painted series of paintings on nature and surrounding in village. He use medium Oil on Canvas. His paintings are in vibrant colours as well as earthen colours and still you feel them cool and fresh when you view these paintings.

This is an internal touch that built a bond with my life, expressing this,I am bound with Vasai and it's heritage culture. Hailing from an evergreen village like Vasai, I was born on 31st December 1950 in a rural family. I completed my primary and secondary educations from the village schools in Vasai. Having a natural instinct and hobby of Drawing Art in me, I tried to develop it in my early childhood days to motivate my prospective future. Though I found none of my family members having this stream of arts in them, I put my might, to withstand all the odds and compalicities with my strong will power.

Samiran Sarkar

Bachelor of Visual Art from Kolkata. He is a winner of several awards which includes Certificate of Merit. He like to work in watercolour on paper and Acrylic on canvas. His type of work is landscapes in India, Village and Cityscapes. Exhibited his works in India and in Texas, California and Virginia. His works are in private collection in India and abroad.

Yashwant Shirwadkar

Yashwant Shirwadkar was born in 1951 in Mumbai. In 1977 he completed his diploma in 'Drawings and Paintings' at the Art College in Maharashtra. Mr. Yashwant Shirwadkar has been working for the last 33 years and has held about 75 solo shows and above 150 group shows in India and abroad. His works are based on landscape series of Benares, Rajasthan, Kashmir and Kerala. He has also done Kulu Manali, Goa and various seascapes in his early days.

Vasudeo Smart

Born on July 17, 1925 in Surat, Vasudeo was among the tallest Gujarati artists. In 1948, he took a diploma in painting, standing third in order of merit. In 1949, he was a fellow in Sir J. J. School of Arts, after having worked for a year as an art teacher at Sarvajanik Education Society in Surat. In 1951, he came back to work for seven years at Jeevan Bharati in Surat. Between 1958 and 1960, he went to the B. H. U as a scholar .

Manu Parekh

Manu Parekh, a modern artist born in Ahmedabad in 1939 in Gujarat. He got the Diploma in Drawing and Painting from Sir J. J. School of art, Bombay, in 1962. Manu started as a stage actor in Bombay and designed stage-sets in Ahmedabad. Till 1974 he worked as a Design Consultant at the Handicraft and Handloom Export Corporation of India, New Delhi. He has done several exhibitions in India and Abroad. His works were presented at the auctions of Sotheby's, Bombay (1989) Andasprey (U. K.) in 1991.

Akbar Padamsee

Akbar Padamsee (born 1928, in Mumbai, India) is a contemporary Indian artist, and one of the generation of established artists who started painting before Indian Independence. He was educated at the venerable Sir J. J. School of Art. He exhibited with the Progressive Artists' Group, a group that reacted against both Western classicism and folk-art revival to establish modern and personal styles.

Ananya Banerjee

Her works are on canvas, using various mediums including oil, metal, wood,silver and gold gilding. Most of her paintings contain either human faces or the eternal sign of peace - The Buddha. These are used as the back-drop to the paintings of nature, which includes leaves, foliage, flowers or plants.
