Ways of Spirit by Prakash Bal Joshi at Lisbon, Portugal

The new series "Ways of Spirit " by Prakash Bal Joshi is for the first time being exhibited by the Gallery Colorida in Lisbon. His sensitivity and thoughtfulness is the soul of this abstract series about his Mumbai city made up of seven Islands which were given in dowry by Portuguese to British in early 1700s. The city is undergoing a radical shift - a vertical growth changing its azure skyline. Ways of Spirit records his impressions of changing environment in Mumbai city most vibrant urban center in contemporary Indian subcontinent. The city is changing its sky line with vertical growth uprooting people from their cultural moorings and providing a different kind of experience. He expresses his anguish through use of colours and spontaneous strokes.

 

Artist Ms.Bhawana Choudhary has won the SPAN cover Art contest

She has won the prestigious magazine SPAN’s 50th Anniversary Cover Art Contest. Bhawana Choudhary Chandra lives and works out of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Her painting will appear on the cover of the January/February 2011 issue of SPAN. She has won and Apple iPad.

Dr. Vishnu Bhatnagar

In a lifetime, there are some people who unknowingly leave an everlasting impression on our minds with their amazing, extraordinary creative abilities, Dr. Vishnu Bhatnagar was such an incredibly versatile human kind. He was a veteran artist who born on 7th March 1947 and passed away on 6th Feb 2006 in Ujjain (M.P.). He was not only an artist but also a contemporary Poet, Sahityakar and Writer who worked under the guidance of eminent archaeologist and artist Dr. V.S.Wakankar during 1964 to 1986.

Rhythm of the Seasons : Exhibition of paintings by Anuradha Thakur at Hyderabad

Anuradha Thakur G.D. Art (fine Art) & ATD from Pune 1982. Topped in the Art Teacher's diploma in the State in 1984. She has exhibited her paintings at Pune, Nasik, Ahmednagar & Nagpur. She has created series of paintings on tribal series titled "Autumns Harmony", Celebration, Music of Life and now A Journey of Expression. These tribal's are devoid of any superficial urban luxuries yet they are contempt, peaceful and in harmony with themselves and Nature. These are highlighted in her use of simple lines in the paintings. She express joy and happiness of their life by creating very colourful paintings.

Reflections by Pratiksha Apurv at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi

Niece and disciple of OSHO, Pratiksha is a mystical traveler revealing the mysterious, layer-by-layer and in the process carrying on her spiritual odyssey in this beautiful journey called life.
Pratiksha initiated herself in Sannyas at the very tender age of 11. Prior to entering into the art world she was a successful fashion designer with a client list consisting of India's who-is-who.
