I draw on images that I perceive in and around the city of Kolkata.
I infuse the past with the present, the mundane
with the Surreal, the ideal with the Comical to
create a grand narrative of human condition.
I dran on the images of the visual
reality to lay bare the incongruities of our
socio-cultural existence. I approximate the style
of modern digital form to invoke the claims of
reality. I think that the Paintings are encoded
metaphors of our multilayered existence.

Human and Nature are inseparable
elements of the life form. Human personality grew
in interaction with nature or the facts around.
I started my work from daily used objects and
after that I was expanding my imagination.
As every abstraction start with a realistic form
and then separating it from the reality. I always
start with an object and then blurring it around
to create my concept . But I try to keep myself
alert of the imageries of modern as well as the
post modern sesibilities.
Human beings dominate the spaces of Subhash's works. Never isolated, they are almost always in the company of birds or
beasts. Fleshed out of seemingly ordinary day to day situations, the humans are elevated to a more meaningful existence in
the confines of the canvas. Gestures are prominent, the casual tilt of the head, sway of the body or grip of the hand being
highlighted by rapid, accentuated brushstrokes and layers of brilliant impasto paint.
Relationships form the core of Abdul Gaffar's paintings. Evocative and lyrical, the human beings inhabiting Gaffar's world

subconscious.
