| Live Portrait Painting using Watercolour by Anil Naik | ||||
| Anil Naik, a senior professor from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, was invited by India Art Gallery to give a live-model painting demonstration. An experienced artist, who is adopted at handling most mediums, decided to use water colours for this particular demo. | ||||
| This subject was a colourful ‘bandman', who was hired as the artist's model. The colourful bandman's uniform, with his musical instrument made for an interesting subject. Using watercolors on a ½ imperial sized paper, Anil gave the ‘bandman' a blackish-blue skin tone, which contrasted starkly with the red uniform, capturing the spontaneity of the subject. | ||||
| This live-demonstration was followed up by a workshop under the guidance of Professor Anil Naik, which needless to say got a good response. | ||||
