S. D. Phadnis

Cartoonist Shivram Dattatreya Phadnis was born on July 29, 1925 at Bhoj, Dist. Belgaum, India. He took his formal art education at Sir J. J. School of Arts, Mumbai.
Extremely interested in cartooning, he moved to Pune with the strong active support of noted editor, late Mr. Anant Antarkar of Hans Publications, and started his career as a cartoonist and a humour illustrator. Since then, innumerable books and periodicals have been enlivened by the cartoons of S D Phadnis. He has carved a niche for himself in the field of humourous illustrations. Many of his works have been featured at the International Salon of Cartoons, Montreal, Canada.
His simple, captionless cartoons bring out the humour in everyday life, crossing the boundaries of language, region or class.

Comic Artist and Illustrator, Mr.Khalil Khan aka Mr.Khalil Bharati runs his very own K.K Studio which has been catering to numerous journals, magazines and dailies relentlessly for the past 25 years.

Hobbies / Fields of Interest- Sketching, Landscapes, Glass Paintings, Writing, Poetry, Story Narration through audio cassettes etc.

Nature of Work- His work ranges from making compositions for book covers , journals etc , caricatures, script writing, writing stories for children, creating comic strips right from conception of story to the creation of characters to the final presentation for magazines, journals and dailies.

Caricatures Published in leading magazine Filmfare and Health (Hindi version).

Demonstration of Cartoon/Caricature making through a Workshop on DoorDarshan.

Writing of Jokes in Hindi and Marathi. Written and presented comic writings on Akashvani.

Comic Story Series ' Tukyacha Honeymoon' ( Honeymoon of Tukya ) published.

'Pathar ke shahar mein ek lamha yaadon ka' ,a booklet of poetry on its way to publication.

Conducted Stage Shows 'Vyanganagari chi mushaafeeri',(' Journey into the world of Cartoons').

Presently creating comic strips 'Chhotu for leading daily Lokmat, Pune.

A well-known cartoonist, cartooning for Newspaper, will teach how to draw cartoons from alphabets.

Worked as an cartoonist as well as an artist for Ajanta, Marathawada, Lokmat, Tarun Bharat and many other Newspapers.

Over last 18 years cartoon column "Kay Sangata" is published in Daily Sakal. Given many lectures and demonstrations on Cartooning and held workshops on cartooning all over Maharashtra.
