Born in Calcutta, the City of Joy, Milon Mukherjee epitomizes creative spirit of Bengal. With his first solo exhibition held in Paris in 1972 Milon has traversed a colourful canvas of life across the Globe, winning hearts and accolades in Europe, Kuwait, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Dubai and Sydney. The Indo-German society has bestowed on him the Prof. Langhammer “Painter of the year award” in 1978 while in 1980 the J&K Govt. invited him to participate in the All India Artist's Camp held in Kashmir. With exhibitions and collections in prominent galleries throughout the country, Milon has proved his eminence as one of India's foremost artist as is evident by the praise showered on him by renowned art experts like Ranjit Hoskote, Dnyaneshwar Nadkarni, pritish Nandy and others. Associated with the Times of India and particularly, The Illustrated weekly, for more than two decades, Milon's illustrious career spans the artistic as well as the literary world where he is noted as a brilliant story teller and novelist. Currently based in Mumbai, Milon is a globetrotter whose lust for life has taken him to many places.
