Artist Sudhir Bangar Sudhir Bangar is a young artist from Pune, who completed his G. D. Art in 1996 and thereafter did his diploma in Art Education from Sir J. J. School of Art Mumbai in 1997. Bangar has participated in many group shows and has recently had a solo show at the Museum Art Gallery, Mumbai in July, 2004.

Bangar is an artist who strongly feels that an artist should initially not concentrate on commercial gains but should instead keep working on their artistic visions. He feels that a lot of young artists today are keen on achieving instant fame and in the process forgetting to ve true to art.

His own growth as an artist started with the strict discipline of portraits and water colour landscapes which he has been painting till 2000. From 2000 onwards Bangar has moving towards figurative art. In 2004, he began exploring a style that acknowledges the historical heritage of Indian sculpture as found in the heritage sites of Ajanta and Khajurao. In a series of figurative compositions, titled 'Love and Life' he has created in a modern format an amalgamation of drawing and textures to depict pictorially the through process of man. Painting and sculpture merge together to create a visual impact that is quiet unique.

For Bangar, this series on 'Love and Life' has been path breaking in his own growth as an artist. It has been a passionate effort to study and depict the effect of society on an artist. Comprehending the beauty of a human (man/women) and the wandering mind and understanding his / her psyche is a difficult endeavor, but a sincere attempt has been made.
