Information The Painting ‘Divine Kund’ is inspired by Kusum Sarovar which is a beautiful historical sandstone monument on the holy Govardhan Hill between Govardhan and Radha Kund in Mathura. Being located in Mathura, it is an integral part of Lord Krishna pilgrimage. The monument is a large square shaped, deep kund surrounded by ghats (steps) & cenotaphs of the Bharatpur Royal Family around it. It is adorned with chhatri’s, pavilions & gardens at upper level.

The historic setting of the place, serenity of the kund, the deep blue-green colour of the water & the intricately carved sandstone architecture created impressions on the Artist’s mind & inspired to bring it on canvas. 'The Divine Kund' is not only a semi-abstract depiction of the monument but a beautiful rendition of 'bhakti-rasa', making connection with your inner core & the divinity of almighty Krishna.
